Evening Worship

18.00 at St Jacob's

Each Sunday in St Jacob's Church next to the Opera House in Kungsträdgården there is a quiet evening Eucharist using music from Iona and Taize and familiar hymns.

It is offered jointly with the Church of Sweden, and organised and led by Nick Howe, the priest of St Peter and St Sigfrid's, with visitors to the city in mind.

Lasting for an hour, it offers breathing space at the start of the week, and a chance to gather round Christ's table with people from all over the world.

Usually most of the congregation are there for that one time only, so 'church' becomes a verb rather than a noun: it is a happening, a small event full of Gospel significance.

As Jesus said: "Many will come from east and west, from north and south, and sit and eat together at the table in the kingdom of heaven".
